Preparation time: 10 minutes Cook time: 4 hours Yield: 1 turkey

Ingredients:
1 (12 - pound) whole turkey, giblets removed
6 tablespoons butter, divided into patties
4 cups lukewarm water
3 tablespoons chicken bouillon
2 tablespoons parsley, dried
2 tablespoons minced onion
2 tablespoons poultry seasoning

Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Rinse the turkey
with cold water, inside and out. Reserve the giblets
for making gravy and stuffing, if desired.
2. In a large roasting pan with a lid (or use foil), place
the turkey, breast-side up. Run a finger underneath the
breast skin to separate; put the butter patties on both
sides of the breast (as it melts it will keep the meat
moist).
3. Combine the water and bouillon in a bowl; add the
parsley and minced onion. Pour over the top of the
turkey; sprinkle the bird with the poultry seasoning.
4. Cover the roaster with the lid or plenty of aluminum
foil to seal tightly. Bake for 3 1/2 hours. Uncover the
turkey for the last 30 minutes in order to brown.
5. Remove the turkey from the oven and let stand for 30
minutes before carving so that the juices are
absorbed into the meat. Use the pan drippings as a
gravy base, if desired.
